        Russell Chan, Ph.D.

        Co-founder, Chairman and CEO

        Russell is the Chairman, CEO, and the lead inventor of E-SENSE core technology, and sets the vision, mission, and strategic direction of the company. His focus is the research, development, application, and commercialization of state-of-the-art multi-modal and multi-scale biomedical imaging devices to advance biotechnology and quality of life. Russell is also a senior consultant at COCHE (Hong Kong Center for Cerebro-cardiovascular Health Engineering). He is the ex-co and R&D focus group lead of HKIE BMD (Hong Kong Institute of Engineers Biomedical Division). He is the founding Vice-Chair of the Young Member Section at HKAE (Hong Kong Academy of Engineering). He was Vice President of BIOHK (Hong Kong International Biotechnology Convention). He is the recipient of the highly selective HKEST award and REVIVE CTO of the Year in 2023. Russell is an elected Junior Fellow of ISMRM (International Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine), and an elected Young Fellow of HKAE (Hong Kong Academy of Engineering).

         

        Russell Holds a B.Eng. in biomedical engineering and Ph.D. in electrical and electronic engineering from The University of Hong Kong (HKU). He was a post-doctoral research fellow at Stanford University in Neurology and Neurological Sciences, and New York University in Neuroscience, Tech4Health, and Ophthalmology.

        Eddie Wong, Ph.D.

        Co-founder and COO

        Eddie is the COO of E-SENSE and currently focusing on overseeing product development, product registration and medical device compliance. His research focus includes biomedical imaging utilizing electrical impedance tomography (EIT), functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), optogenetics, pharmacological inhibition, behavioural conditioning, and auditory processing neuroimaging. With the expertise in areas of technical assessments on medical devices, electronic products and regulatory compliance, he also manages multiple clinical trials and collaborations with international universities, hospitals, and industries on the developed technologies and medical devices, also responsible for transforming the prototypes into mass-manufacturable products with third-parties verification and certifications. Eddie is also a consultant in Hong Kong Centre for Cerebro-Cardiovascular Health Engineering (COCHE) to facilitate technology-transfer and commercialization process of the developed technologies and interventions. He is the recipient of the highly selective HKEST award and REVIVE Ones to watch of the Year in 2023.

        Eddie holds a B.Sc. in Applied Physics from the City University of Hong Kong and a Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from The University of Hong Kong.

        Jimmy Lui, CPA (Aust.)

        Co-founder and CFO

        Jimmy is the CFO of E-SENSE, oversees all accounting, financial and investment-related operations. With extensive experience gained from working at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Jimmy has developed a profound expertise in capital market transactions including initial public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, and debt offerings. In addition, Jimmy has played an integral role in delivering auditing and assurance services as well as transfer pricing tax services to a diverse portfolio of multinational companies spanning various industries.

        Jimmy holds a Master of Commerce degree with a major in finance from the University of New South Wales, Australia and is a member of the CPA Australia.

        Bradley Edelman, Ph.D.

        CTO

        Brad is the CTO of E-SENSE and manages technical operations including the research, development and applications. His research focus has spanned various domains that include the development of non-invasive brain-computer interface for robotic arm control as well as the investigation of neurovascular coupling and the neural basis of emotion processing. His expertise in biomedical imaging spans the development of hardware and software utilities involving electroencephalography, functional MRI, functional ultrasound, two-photon microscopy, and more. He is the recipient of numerous awards from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NIH NINDS), and the European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO).

        Brad holds a dual B.S in mechanical and biomedical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. He was a post-doctoral research fellow at the Stanford University School of Medicine and at the Max Planck Society.
